The ‘old mill’ in Trodena in the Nature Park, in the South Tyrolean Bassa Atesina, houses the Visitors’ Centre of the Monte Corno Nature Park, with interesting information on this protected area. One part is dedicated to geology, with the typical porphyry and calcareous vegetation, while another, very large section contains a unique and perfectly functioning model of an elevator mill used for grinding flour in summer. In the wood-fired oven at the Visitors’ Centre, the ground flour is transformed into bread, just like in our grandmothers’ time
