The Val Sarentino in South Tyrol is not only well known for its beautiful landscape and its colourful traditional costumes but also for its artisans. Especially in this valley a particular skill which is done with peacock feathers is performed and preserved, the quill embroidery. A hundreds and more hours of work are required to embroider the artful ornaments on belts, shoes or wallets. We visited Ulrich Thaler in his workshop in Sarentino who gave us an insight into this nearly forgotten craft
