Shinrin-yoku, or breathing the atmosphere of the forest or — even more briefly — ‘forest bathing’, has long been an officially recognized way of strengthening health in Japan. Here, too, we are aware of the well-being that comes from the miraculous power of nature. In the forest we listen, we perceive the light sounds of nature, messages sent between thousands and thousands of life forms to communicate within such a complex environment.
