Trostburg Castle is one of the most impressive castles in South Tyrol not only because of its position as a gatekeeper between the north and the south on the Brennero road. This majestic castle rests upon a rocky promontory overlooking the village of Colma. First mentioned in records dating back to 1173, the owners were the Lords of Trostburg. The castle, with its Late Gothic architecture, is in excellent condition today. Visitors are welcome from Maundy Thursday until the end of October.
