North of Vipiteno, towards the Brennero Pass, you first see the valley station of the Monte Cavallo Cable Car and immediately afterwards, the farmsteads of Ceves (Tschöfs). This small village exudes rural charm. On the western slopes of the Monte Cavallo, the farms of Mazzes, Raminges di Sotto, Ceppaia, and Flanes stretch out - an ancient settlement area inhabited since Roman times.
The construction of the Brennero Motorway later divided the village centre. The Monte Cavallo above Ceves is a popular destination. Easily accessible and diverse, it offers magnificent views over the valley basin even during the ascent. Between llamas, an adventure park, a summer toboggan run, and huts serving South Tyrolean specialities, paths meander through the alpine landscape.
One of these paths leads in a little over an hour to the small mountain village of Valmigna, which also belongs to Ceves. This hike is also well-suited for families with children. In winter, the Monte Cavallo attracts visitors with toboggan runs and ski slopes. Only 850 metres separate the cable car from Ceves. Thanks to its proximity to Vipiteno, you can leave your car behind.
Vipiteno with its old town or the Balneum spa with indoor swimming pool and sauna can be easily reached on foot or by public transport in just a few minutes. In the other direction, to the north, lies Colle Isarco, the main town of the Brennero municipality.
