Beside Tulves, Avenes, Novale, Borgone, Saletto and Fossa Trues, also Caminata is located in the anterior part of the Val di Vizze, also called Vizze di Fuori. Some 170 inhabitants live in Caminata, where the so-called “Torre di Vizze” tower is located: when this building was mentioned for the first time in 1290, it was owned by the Trauttson family, for this reason it is also called “Trauttson tower”. It was rebuilt after having been destroyed by an avalanche.
Worth seeing is also the parish church of Caminata: the new and ancient parish church of the 14th century are connected by a church steeple.
Particularly significant from a natural viewpoint is the area of the so-called Kematner Möser. The large number of hay barns underline the rural character of this area, which by the way is also a known bird resting-stop place.
Worthwhile is also a pleasant walk along the circular trail of Caminata. To those, however, who would like to advance to the high alpine area of the valley, we recommend a tour to the Passo di Fundres or Passo di Vizze, starting from Fossa Trues. This tour is only recommendable to athletically trained people.
