Campo Tures forms the end of the Tures Valley and impresses with waterfalls and castles, biotopes and activity opportunities
A mighty castle, impressive waterfalls, a biotope, a wellness facility, a parish museum and a ski area - the municipality of Campo Tures presents itself in a varied way. It consists of five districts that extend from Molini di Tures in the wide valley basin to Caminata and the main village of Campo Tures. Towering majestically above it is Tures Castle, or Schloss Taufers, which has seen people come and go for 800 years.
Then the route continues to the mountain hamlet of Acereto, birthplace of the extreme mountaineer Hans Kammerlander, and into the Val di Riva valley, where the famous Riva Waterfalls rush over the cliffs. The 80 three-thousand-metre peaks of the Valli di Tures and Aurina are always visible in some way - above the villages or in the distance. In this part, it is the Rieserferner Group, called Gruppo delle Vedrette di Ries in Italian, that towers over Campo Tures and is largely protected in the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park. Down in the valley, the Aurino Floodplain Forest Biotope ends at Molini dei Tures with the Aurino Adventure Trail and the "Pusterbike" Cycle Route, which starts in Brunico.
The active possibilities start here with hiking and mountain biking, and extend to horseback riding, paragliding and rafting. In winter, between Campo Tures and Lutago, the gateway to the Valle Aurina, you will find the lifts of the Speikboden Skiing Area. Together with the one of Klausberg further down the valley, it forms the SkiWorld Valle Aurina, which combines 76 km of ski slopes and 21 mountain huts, but also offers family highlights such as the Klausberg Zipline and the Funpark "Funtaklaus". Events, such as the Campo Tures Cheese Festival in spring, the Street Kitchen in midsummer, and the Bicycle Festival in autumn add festival atmosphere to the seasonal offers.
