There where the Arunda Valley branches off, a charming valley with the Clusio Hut as a hiking destination, the village of Clusio is located

West of the main village of Malles, only separated by the wide Malles Heath, lies the rural village of Clusio (Schleis). Like all the other component localities of the municipality of Malles Venosta, also Clusio is generously endowed with churches and chapels, whose towers are visible above the roofs. Here it is the Parish Church of St. Lawrence of Rome and the little Church of St. Anthony on the way to the main village. Next to it is one of the abandoned military bunkers of the Alpine Wall, an unfinished line of Italian fortifications in the Alps that was begun after World War I.
From the village you can directly reach the Valle Arunda and the Val Venosta mountain world of Mt. Tella & Co. The small road ends where the Hours' Trail passes, which once connected the Swiss St. John Monastery with the Monte Maria Monastery. The Swiss stage is no longer accessible, but the Val Venosta stage is a popular tour with an impressive destination: Monte Maria with its crypt and the Monastery Museum. A detour leads a little further into the Arunda Valley to the Polsterhof farm, where excursions such as the one to the Laudes and Clusio Mountain Huts start.
If you start on foot in Clusio, you can also reach the Slingia Valley via the Polsterhof. In winter, this route becomes a popular winter hike, which can partly be done by the ski bus that connects all villages of Malles Venosta with the Watles Skiing Area. Ski tours lead to dizzying heights, to the summits of Cima Arunda, Cima dei Greppi or Cima di Tella and to the Punta Valdaschli peak. These are strenuous tours that reward you with a unique view.
