Vandoies di Sopra is connected to the main village of Vandoies di Sotto by a half-hour walk or by public transport. Actually, there are two places that await you here: the Lodenwelt, a collection of buildings with shops, a museum, a fine cheese dairy and, right in the middle, the Lodenwirt inn, and the village itself. In the past, Vandoies di Sopra (Obervintl), like Vandoies di Sotto, stretched along the main transit route of the Val Pusteria valley, but for a few years now there has been a new bypass road that runs extensively around both villages, giving them back their tranquillity.
The St. Nicholas Church, the kindergarten and the "Dorflodn" (village shop) are grouped on one side of the street, the farms and houses on the other. One of them is the historic Töpsl Residence. The main attraction of the village is certainly the World of Loden Museum with outdoor enclosure: Goats and sheep bleat in the open air, while the museum illustrates the path from wool to finished coat. Right next door, there is another experience with the Dairy Adventure World Capriz, which is no longer about clothing, but about delicacies. The goat cheese is of the best quality.
To the east of the village, the Obervintler Wasserfälle refresh their visitors in the summer. It is a mostly tranquil spot that is connected to an enchanting themed trail on the tracks of the elves. From the "Töpslplatz" car park, the Elves' Trail leads first to a deer enclosure, then to the Vandoies di Sopra Waterfalls at the Terento stream. The first one is small, but the large one, with 43 metres, is much more impressive. The trail then continues to the viewing platform above Vandoies di Sopra and back to the starting point via the Vena stream. Also recommended in winter!
