Anterselva di Sotto is the first village that belongs to the Anterselva Valley itself. It lies in a wide valley hollow, framed by the majestic mountain giants of the Rieserferner Group. The village is small, but has everything for a holiday full of nature experiences and a summer resort feeling. In the middle of the village stands the Gothic St. Walpurga Church, whose basic elements date back to the 15th century. Passing the fire department, you then come to the recreation zone at the Rio Anterselva, where families can find a fish pond with a children's playground and Kneipp facility.
Exactly there is also the MTB area with downhill variants and a pump track for children. Walkers can take the Biotope Path along the Rio Anterselva to the well-known Rasner Möser, a marshland with boardwalks in the neighbouring Rasun di Sopra. Cyclists can use the Valle Anterselva Cycle Path to visit Lake Anterselva. The alpine pastures can also be reached on foot from Anterselva di Sotto: The Hofstatt Alp is enthroned above the leisure zone and is accessible in a leisurely circular hike with return via the Walder Farms, also suitable for families or as a mountain bike or e-bike tour. More strenuous is the tour to the 2,687 m high Monte Costa, twice as high as the alp below.
A bit outside of Anterselva di Sotto (Antholz Niedertal), but still within the village area, is Bagni di Salomone - literally Solomon's Baths or Fountain - one of the healing springs in South Tyrol and today a country hotel. The 8 degrees C cold spring in the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park carries healing water containing radon, which has been officially designated as a natural mineral water. The spring was already used in the 15th century: The water has a blood pressure-lowering effect and a calming effect on the central and peripheral nervous system. Today, baths, bathing and drinking cures are still offered here. In winter, Anterselva di Sotto is located directly on the magnificent valley cross-country ski track on natural snow, which ends just before Lake Anterselva.
