Glaiten is located high above San Leonardo, at 1,000 m asl and can be reached via the Passo del Giovo. From a scenic viewpoint, Glainten is to be considered a paradise: the Alpine rose blossom, the intact nature, high mountain peaks and the refreshing climate also in hot summer days make the village an ideal starting point for mountaineering. Particularly popular is the tour on the Monte Fumaiolo (2,389 m), the local mountain of the inhabitants of San Leonardo in Passiria. Also in winter it is a highly popular mountain, for those who love ski touring.
The main attraction of Glaiten is undoubtedly the little S. Ippolioto church, which can be seen from the centre of Glaiten. It dates back to the late Romanesque period and can be reached on foot.
