The municipality in the Upper Val di Non presents itself with a pond and deep ravines - an interesting place to visit

The Passo Palade Road has an interesting story to tell: It is an architectural masterpiece that takes you from Lana in the Adige Valley to the top of the pass and on to San Felice, before South Tyrol passes into the Trentino. Together with Proves and Lauregno, Senale-San Felice completes the German-speaking municipalities in the upper part of the Val di Non: The other villages are Italian-speaking and are already part of Trentino.
Three villages form the municipal territory: After the Palade Pass comes Senale, an ancient place of pilgrimage, then the farms of Malgasott, and finally San Felice, the administrative centre with the schools and the town hall. The paths lead both upwards to the surrounding alpine pastures and to the popular Lake Tret, a bathing lake and biotope high above San Felice, as well as downwards into the gorges, such as the Rio Novella Canyon with the San Felice Waterfall.
The inhabitants of Senale are called "Woldner" in South Tyrolean dialect - from Wald, the German term for forest - due to the fact that the village is located close to the woods, whereas the ones from San Felice are the "Berger" (Berg means mountain). If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place to be: The outdoor activities on offer, against the impressive backdrop of the Nonsberg Group, cover all seasons: In winter, the paths and MTB routes are transformed into wonderful winter hiking trails with stops at the different mountain huts.
