Sunshine, forests, tranquillity and mountains best characterise the Val d’Ultimo and the adjacent Upper Val di Non

The Val d'Ultimo winds its way up the slopes for 40 kilometres from Lana in the Merano area. In its middle section, a road leads to the German-speaking municipalities of Lauregno, Proves and Senale in the Alta Val di Non. The valley ends at Lake Fontana Bianca and is an excellent area for hiking: The tours start on the valley floor with the Ultimo Farm Trail and the path around Lake Zoccolo, and lead you up to the Canziani Hut on the Lago Verde - the Green Lake - at 2,560 metres.
In winter, the Schwemmalm awaits skiers and snowboarders. The small skiing area, where some stars of the international ski circuit train and which is home to Dominik Paris, is still considered an insider's tip. The paths on the valley floor around the Zoccolo Reservoir, to the Stelvio National Park House, and to the Ancient Larch Trees then become quiet winter hiking trails.
