On a sun-drenched terrace near lake Caldaro, there is the locality of Sella, belonging to Termeno
You can take a first look at the village when you drive from Lake Caldaro to Termeno. Located at about 450 m on a sun-drenched terrace, Sella benefits from its elevated location high above the Wine Route.
The S. Maurizio parish church strikes the eye in the locality of Sella. The interior of this sacred building is adorned by a high altar dating back to 1520 decorated with paintings of Adam and Eve, most probably realised by Bartlmä Dill Riemenschneider. A further distinctive feature of the church is that the left nave boasts Romanesque elements, while the right one features Gothic construction elements. The frescos adorning the facades, however, date back to the 14th to 15th century.
Our tip: a visit to the outdoor pool of Termeno in summertime, combined with a pleasant walk across the orchards and vineyards in the environs.
