Termeno on the Wine Road

Termeno is the home of the Gewuerztraminer wine and lies along the South Tyrolean Wine Route

Termeno comprises the localities of Sella, Ronchi and Termeno. In the north the municipal territory borders on Lake Caldaro, the warmest lake for bathing in the Alps. The landscape characterised by vineyards covering gentle hills, cypresses, lemon and olive trees stands in contrast to the 2,113 m high Monte Roen, towering above Termeno.

Termeno bears several imprints of the past, still perceptible today. The Local Museum of Termeno for instance provides an insight into the history of the village, while the so-called "Egetmann" parade in Carnival represents only one of the traditions that are still alive.

Last but not least, one of the world-wide best white wines is the Gewuerztraminer that is cultivated on the slope of Termeno, where this grapevine also has its origins. In the course of the year, there are many events focusing on this high-quality wine.
