On the south side of the Valle dei Molini, there is a hamlet that belongs to the municipality of Montagna sulla Strada del Vino, which is called Casignano. This tiny hamlet, located at 952 m a.s.l. offers solitude, tranquillity and nature. By the way, the Monte Corno Nature Park is an ideal terrain for hikes and mountain bike tours.
Already the Capuchins appreciated the great location of Casignano and settled down here. Still today they have a little, picturesque monastery which dates back to the 17th century in this place, actually called "oasis of calm".
The view you can enjoy from Casignano ranging from the west to the north includes the Valle dell'Adige valley, from the Chiusa di Salorno to Lake Caldaro to Bolzano. The view on the mighty mountains of the Brenta Dolomites and Ortles group is impressive.
