The only district of Caldaro, which is located right on the shores of Lake Caldaro, is the venue for the Lake Stage Performance, the Lake Caldaro Triathlon and the Caldaro Lake Run.
The scattered groups of houses and wineries on the western shore of Lake Caldaro form the district of San Giuseppe al Lago (St. Josef am See).
In between, several residences and castles characterise the landscape: Manicor, Ringberg, Greifenburg and Kaltenburg, all of them are nestling in the heart of flourishing vineyards and date back to the 17th century. Today, their names stand for exquisite wines and the finest cuisine. Directly on the Wine Road to Termeno, on the other hand, is the little church of San Giuseppe.
S. Giuseppe al Lago - a campsite can also be found there - is located at 215 metres a.s.l., making it the lowest part of the municipality of Caldaro and the place where water sports enthusiasts meet in summer. The professional athletes to take part in the Lake Caldaro Triathlon and the Caldaro Lake Run, and all those who enjoy surfing, sailing and swimming to make themselves comfortable in the three bathing establishments.
These are the Lido Seegarten, the Seebad Gretl am See with the only windsurfing school in South Tyrol and shop and the Lido Lake Caldaro, with a pool at the top and lake access at the bottom on the sunbathing lawn. The ‘Ora’ blows here, which is well known among windsurfers: It is the south wind from Lake Garda, which even reaches Caldaro and the Wine Road in summer. It gives sailors and windsurfers the best conditions on the water.
