Extensive orchards, punctuated by a small church... this is how your exploration of Naturno village (Naturns Dorf), the municipality's main centre, begins. Here, at an altitude of 528 metres, the 7th-century St. Proculus Church was built. It is one of South Tyrol’s most significant landmarks and one of the oldest early Christian churches in the region, famed for its pre-Carolingian frescoes.

Just a few steps away, at the village entrance, the Proculus Museum displays archaeological finds, regional history, and, of course, fascinating facts about the church itself. A stroll through the village takes you past the Romanesque St. Zeno Church, the town hall, the primary school, shops, and places to eat and drink. A striking new building, opened in 2024, houses the Gruppo di Tessa Visitor Centre. The building and exhibition are inspired by the theme of "Water and Light".

Towering above the village is Naturno Castle, the municipality's landmark. At the edge of the village, you'll find tennis courts and parking areas. Naturno is an ideal starting point for excursions. The Val Venosta Cycle Route passes directly through the village and continues to Merano. Mountain bikers will find challenging routes at higher altitudes. Those who are fit can tackle the MTB tour to the Gelato Pass and the Petrarca Hut. It is a seven-hour tour that leads through the Val Senales and the Val Passiria valleys, reaching an altitude of 3,000 metres.

Hikers will find the Knights' Path of Naturno, the Wallburgweg path, and the Meran High Route, which passes the farmsteads of Sottomonte (Unterstell). They are also accessible by cable car.
