Riomolino di Lagundo (Mühlbach bei Algund) is the main village in the municipality of Lagundo and home to the town hall. Located on the left bank of the Adige River, the village has developed significantly in recent years and expanded towards Merano. On the outskirts, you'll find the Burggräfler fruit cooperative and the ALGO shopping centre with a cinema and restaurants, just a short distance from where the spa town of Meran and its hospital begin.

The main thoroughfare is the Josef Weingartner Road. Lagundo extends a unique welcome: At the Merano-Bolzano Motorway exit stands the "SteinZeit" art project, a stone sun crafted from 80 boulders to commemorate the village's 1,000th anniversary. Upon reaching the centre, the church spire immediately catches the eye: It rises needle-like into the sky and is often cited as an example of contemporary architecture. The accompanying new parish church is dedicated to Saint Joseph.

Considerably older is the Maria Steinach Monastery at the western entrance to the village. Eight centuries have passed since its construction, but Dominican nuns still inhabit and manage the monastery today. Riomolino is a lively village with a vibrant community. Cyclists and hikers can be found here in every season, exploring the surrounding Waalwege paths - the ancient irrigation channels - and the Val Venosta Cycle Path. In summer, the Lagundo Lido, South Tyrol's first outdoor pool with a saltwater system, is a popular attraction.

From the "Gardenflair" farmers' market - an event for gourmets and lovers of flowers - and South Tyrolean wine tastings to the Christmas Market during Advent, there's always something happening in Riomolino. The nearby festival grounds also serve as a venue for live concerts.
