Falzeben, at the foot of the Merano 2000 hiking and skiing area, is a local recreation area for the people of Merano, a sports area for the residents of Avelengo, and a popular destination for visitors. The small village consists of just a few buildings. One houses a gourmet restaurant listed in the Gault&Millau guide, another the valley station of the Merano 2000 Cable Car.

From here, the yellow gondolas glide uphill to Mt. Piffinger Köpfl, the starting point for hiking trails, mountain bike routes and ski slopes. You can also start your hike directly from the car park. Ideal destinations include the serviced alpine pastures in the surrounding area, such as the Moschwald Mountain Hut and the Waidmann Hut. Regional specialities await you there.

A section of the European long-distance hiking trail E5 also passes through this area. Ambitious mountaineers can climb the Monte Ivigna, also known as Big Ivigna in order to distinguish it from the Small Ivigna, the region's local mountain, from Avelengo. A via ferrata leads up from Scena.

The Alpin Bob Merano 2000, however, is an experience for everyone. The year-round toboggan run on rails guarantees a safe ride, where you control the speed. Experience pure adrenaline as you whiz down the mountain over bends and bridges - some twelve metres above the ground.
