Part of the village of Prato all'Isarco (Blumau) and the hamlets of Novale di Presule (Prösler Ried), Novale di Fiè (Völser Ried) and Passo (Steg) also belong to the municipality of Fiè allo Sciliar. Actually, they are not individual districts, but all separate hamlets between the Isarco Valley and the Sciliar area. They are located on the slopes below Fiè and Sant'Antonio - like Novale di Fiè and Passo - and reach all the way down to the banks of the Isarco river in the valley - like Prato Isarco.
Thanks to their hillside location, the hamlets are situated relatively low, between 300 and 650 m a.s.l. - their position makes them suitable for viticulture. Vineyards surround the single farmsteads: The Valle Isarco, Italy's northernmost wine-growing region, produces top-quality white wines. 20 wineries have joined forces as "EisacktalWein" and market them directly from the farms.
By the way: Especially in autumn, during the Toerggele season, these places are ideal for a leisurely hike combined with a stop in one of the traditional "Buschenschänke", the farm inns. The nearby Valle Isarco is considered one of the main areas for Törggelen, when dumplings, "Schlachtplatte", roasted chestnuts and sweet krapfen are served between October and November.
