East of the main village Fiè di Sotto and a little higher lies Fiè di Sopra (Obervöls) on the way to Umes, another district of Fiè allo Sciliar. Here you are on the road towards the Fiè Pond: The mountain lake at the foot of Mt. Sciliar is one of the most popular excursion destinations here and invites you to take a dip in the water in summer and to go skating in winter. The information point of the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park is located at the car park.
Fiè di Sopra offers tranquillity and relaxation in the heart of the Dolomites. In addition to the Fiè Pond, there are two other lakes in the area: the Huber Pond and the Gflierer Pond. The centre of Fiè di Sopra, on the other hand, is the Church of Saints Margaret and Laurence, which stands on the foundation walls of an ancient Romanesque church. Not far away, at the parish church in the neighbouring Fiè di Sotto, you can admire the treasures from the excavations at the Peterbühel and the sacred art of the St. Michael's Chapel in the Parish and Archaeological Museum.
If you are travelling with your family, the Tuff Mountain Hut is an interesting destination. The path starts at the Fiè Pond and can also be comfortably done by horse-drawn carriage if you book in advance. The mountain hut lies in the midst of alpine meadows, with grazing cows, horses and alpacas all around. Sometimes camels stay here for their summer retreat below the mighty Sciliar. In winter, the Tuff Hut is the starting point of a toboggan run that ends at Lake Fiè.
