The municipality of Fié allo Sciliar is set amidst the wide meadows and forests of the Sciliar area. The mighty Sciliar mountain massif is not only an impressive backdrop for your stay, but also the symbol of Fié and of all of South Tyrol: Its silhouette, with the Punta Santner and Punta Euringer peaks at one end, also adorns the official South Tyrol logo.
Together with the nearby Siusi Alp, the area forms an extensive region for hiking and climbing in summer and for skiing in winter. You can discover the immediate surroundings of Fié on the Aica di Fié Farm Trail, the so-called "Oachner Höfeweg".
The landscape here is particularly diverse: It ranges from the vineyards on the slopes above the Valle Isarco up to dense coniferous forests and the rugged Dolomite peaks. Fié allo Sciliar was first mentioned in documents in the 9th century, although the origins of the settlement probably date back much further (4th millennium BC). A particularly valuable find in the municipal area is a flute-like musical instrument, the oldest of its kind in South Tyrol.
Oswald von Wolkenstein is also a name you will hear often here: The minnesinger is still honoured annually at the Oswald von Wolkenstein Ride, one of South Tyrol's largest equestrian events. For several years, Fié allo Sciliar has also been an official climatic health resort.
There is much to discover in this clear mountain air, including cultural attractions like Presule Castle and the Parish and Archaeological Museum of Fié, family-friendly destinations such as the Tuff Hut, and natural experiences like the Fiè Pond. Fié places particular importance on its cuisine: Culinary events, such as the "Schlerngenuss Dolomites" culinary weeks at the beginning of summer and the "Gastronomical October" in autumn, celebrate the region's delicacies.
