Colli in Pusteria is one of the numerous villages and the only district of the extensive municipality of Terento: The surrounding hamlets are small clusters of farms. When the first houses come into view - for example during a bike tour on the Val Pusteria Sun Road - you have already passed the main village of Terento and the Val Vena valley (Winnebachtal). The small village offers a café and a bus stop, all around the places are called Josambichl, Brück, Kuen and Koltoplotz.
The sunny circular hike is popular in Colli in Pusteria (Pichlern), ideal for spending a leisurely summer or autumn day with a stop for refreshments. Not too steep and not too strenuous, it would be called a valley hike if Colli in Pusteria were not located on the sunny high plateau far above the Val Pusteria. The trail winds pleasantly through the meadows and forests near the main village of Terento, crosses the stream and follows the road to the Guggenhof farm. Afterwards comes Colli in Pusteria and therefore the possibility to return by bus.
When it gets cold, Colli in Pusteria, like the rest of the Val Pusteria Sun Road, is usually covered in snow and winter sports dominate. The choice is then purely a matter of taste: A round on the ice skates in Terento village is a good idea, where there is also a ski slope with a lift right in the centre, or the sunny track for cross-country skiers. The ski areas of Plan de Corones, called Kronplatz in German, Gitschberg Jochtal and Plose, and the enchanting towns of Bressanone and Brunico with their Christmas markets, shops and cultural opportunities are about 20 km away.
