Ronchi or Runggen is the name of several villages in South Tyrol, one of them is located on the slope above San Lorenzo

The small hamlet above Floronzo and Palù at the entrance to the Val Badia valley is called Ronchi, situated just after the main village of San Lorenzo. There are only a few houses and a snack station which you can reach from the Aue artisan area. Next to it is the small Schrafflau Biotope, which is divided by the Rio Gadera river, one of the protected zones in South Tyrol.
The Lerchner's in Ronchi is a snack station that invites you to stop for a break. Here the hike leads past, which starts in Casteldarne or at any other point along the path and then takes you to Mt. Kienberg and to Mantana. From there it goes up to Ronchi and via the Way of the Cross back to Casteldarne. Thanks to the public transport network, you can also travel a part of the way by bus.
The cold season in Ronchi, like everywhere else in South Tyrol, is characterised by experiences in the fresh air, be it on hikes in the surrounding area, a day in the Plan de Corones Skiing Area or a lap on the ice skates in San Lorenzo. A visit to the Brunico Christmas Market in the neighbouring town is also recommended, because the Advent season awaits you here with creative gift ideas and a cosy atmosphere, filled with the scent of typical desserts and of mulled wine.
