From the Val Sarentino, into the Valle di Valdurna and from the Valle di Valdurna into the Valle di San Martino: The houses of Boscoriva (Unterreinswald) around the craftsmen's zone and the bus stops Gufl and Ausserebner are located exactly at this intersection. The tiny mountain village in the heart of South Tyrol welcomes you before the road takes you uphill to the larger San Martino (Reinswald) with the cable car leading to the Reinswald Skiing and Hiking Area above.
Boscoriva is the starting point for the tour, which shows you a part of the Val Sarentino and leads to the beautiful Lake Valdurna at the end of the valley. In three hours you can cross the Valdurna Valley, the longest side valley of the Val Sarentino, and pass several refreshment stops until you reach the lake at 1,545 m a.s.l. In the village itself, a visit to the St. Nicholas Church with the beautiful frescoes that were uncovered is worthwhile. You can return comfortably by bus.
The landscape around Boscoriva is characterised by colourful larches and deciduous trees in autumn. Together with late spring - because until April the valley is usually under a blanket of snow and a paradise for skiers and cross-country skiers - autumn is also becoming increasingly popular to spend a few quiet relaxing days. Then the mountain inns invite you to culinary delights under the sun of Sarentino, which include Schlutzkrapfen with melted butter as well as "Sarner Striezl", the traditional yeast pastry garnished with the best South Tyrolean speck.
