Along the Brennero Road between Ponticolo (Pontigl) and Terme di Brennero (Brennerbad), on the eastern side of the valley, there is an underpass of the motorway where the road to the Kreit Farm starts (signpost "Enzianhütte"). Three bends later we reach a small car park just below the farm, where the Rifugio Genziana-Zirago sledge run begins. It is one of the toboggan runs in the valley.
The almost 5 km long track runs through a dense coniferous forest to the Riedl-Kaser Mountain Hut (Riedl-Kaser-Alm) at 1,770 m a.s.l. From there, the trail continues through snow-covered alpine meadows to the Genziana-Zirago Mountain Hut (Enzianhütte, Zirogalm) at almost 1,900 m a.s.l.
Information: During our visit we hiked up to the Riedl-Kaser Mountain Hut. Since the further way after heavy snowfall was not prepared, we did not walk the last part of the way to the Genziana-Zirago Mountain Hut. Nevertheless we could enjoy the snowy winter landscape at the main ridge of the Alps to the fullest.
