Gitschberg Jochtal Skiing Area

Discover the slopes of the Valle Isarco: exploring Gitschberg Jochtal, the largest skiing area in the Isarco and Upper Isarco Valleys

More than ten years ago, Maranza, with its gondola lift at the edge of the village, and Valles, with the Jochtal Cable Car, joined forces to create the Gitschberg Jochtal Ski Resort. On the southern slopes of the Fundres Mountains, 55 kilometres of snow-sure slopes and 15 lifts await. These include the Ski Express and the Gaisjoch Cable Car, which in certain sections soars 93 metres above the ground, offering breathtaking views of the Valle di Altafossa and the Isarco Valley.

Wide slopes characterise Mt. Gitschberg, while the Jochtal area is particularly popular with carving enthusiasts. From the Gitschberg, Stoanermandl and Giogo d'Asta viewing platforms, a panorama of over 500 mountain peaks unfolds on clear days. Rest points like the Gitschhütte, Anratter and Pichler Mountain Huts invite you with their sun terraces to take a relaxing break.

For snowboarders, there's the F-Tech Snow Park with rails, slides, and boxes, as well as the Gitschberg Speed Track. Children can have fun in the Gimmy Park of the Valles-Jochtal Ski School or on the Wood Line, a kids' course with various wooden elements along slope no. 10. New is the Brimi Winter Run, a 4.5 km long toboggan run that starts at the Nesselbahn mountain station. A second, pre-existing toboggan run at the Schilling Cable Car leads from the middle station to the valley station in Valles. The Gitschberg Jochtal Skiing Area is part of Dolomiti Superski.

Ski slopes: 55 km (20.5 km easy / 25.5 km medium / 9 km difficult)

Lift facilities: 15 lifts

Toboggan runs: 2 runs (Brimi Winter Run 4.5 km, Valles toboggan run 1 km)
Cross-country ski tracks: 1 track (Valles track 5 km)
