Every year, the roads and mountain passes around the mighty Sella Massif for two days are closed for motorised traffic
Twice a year - once at the beginning of the summer season in the first half of June, and once in early autumn in mid-September -, the cycling day for everyone around the Sella Group takes place. It is called Sellaronda Bike Day and has been organised since almost two decades now. It's the best opportunity to discover and cross the famous Sella Pass, Gardena Pass, Pordoi Pass and Campolongo Pass without disturbing noises, traffic fumes and risks for the own safety. These Dolomite passes are also located along the course of the Maratona dles Dolomites, a bike race for everyone in July, and are part of the legendary Sella Ronda, the ski round trip in winter.
It doesn't matter which bike you have - racing bike, mountain bike, tandem or unicycle - it's not a question of time, but a unique experience. Registration is not needed, you may start from Selva Gardena, Corvara in Badia, Arabba in the Val di Fiemme or Canazei in the Val di Fassa. The 53 km long tour includes 1,600 m of altitude difference. The Highway Code must be obeyed at all times - the participants should save the environment and only use the right hand lane. Have fun!
