At the end of May, the white wines of the wine estates between the Novacella Abbey and the town of Chiusa are duly celebrated
For one day in late spring, the exquisite white wines of the Valle Isarco valley are celebrated in the alleys of the town of Chiusa. In the southern part of the valley, on the slopes beneath the Alpe di Siusi area and in the villages around Chiusa, grape varieties such as Müller-Thurgau, Green Veltliner, Riesling, Kerner, Silvaner and Gewurztraminer are cultivated. "Sabiona" is the name of the event, based on the Sabiona Monastery, which towers high above the medieval town.
On the special Saturday of the Valle Isarco White Wine Festival, several tasting stations are offered till midnight - one booth is reserved for the sparkling wines of the valley. You may enjoy the best wines from the wine estates between the southern part of the valley and the famous Novacella Abbey, which produces its own wine. Furthermore, there's a wine lounge at the Tinne Square.
