The smaller and larger theatres in South Tyrol offer a colourful mix of entertaining, reflective, curious and exciting plays throughout the year. They include peasant farces and comedies as well as traditional plays and new works presented by the Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, the German-speaking South Tyrolean professional theatre, the Teatro Stabile, the individual amateur theatre groups or at events such as the open-air South Tyrolean Bassa Atesina Open Air Theatre Festival.
