Hike on the Chestnut Trail

The chestnut trail in the Valle Iscarco - “Keschtnweg” - connects the 90 km long sunny slopes between Vilpiano and Bressanone

Particularly in autumn, the Chestnut Trail is definitely one of the hiking highlights in South Tyrol. No matter if you prefer to do a tour of several days or just one or two single stages, hiking on the Chestnut Trail is always a great opportunity to connect hiking and enjoying tasty local dishes and drinks, particularly during the Törggele season between September and November. In the following we present the Chestnut Trail, divided into 4 stages.

In 2021, the Chestnut Trail was extended from 63 to 90 km. Now it no longer begins and ends in Bolzano, but continues along the stretch from Roncolo Castle through the Cologna vineyards to Terlano on the South Tyrolean Wine Road, and Vilpiano.
