Along the ridge between the Val d’Ultimo and the Val di Rabbi valleys the beautiful Corvo Lakes are located at 2,500 m a.s.l., the destination of this late summer hike

The tour starts at the church of Santa Gertrude (St. Gertraud) in the Val d'Ultimo valley. The path no. 106 leads us to the edge of the forest and over the Rio di Montechiesa brook to the crossing with the forest path no. 108. It proceeds past the Köllgrub Mountain Hut (Köllgrub-Hütte) through the Valle di Montechiesa valley slightly uphill to the Montechiesa Mountain Hut (Kirchberg Alm), a well-known rest point at 1,890 m a.s.l.
Behind the Bärhapp Mountain Hut the trail gets steeper and narrower, the high alpine landscape up to the timber line is stony. From this point it's not that far anymore to the Passo di Rabbi, a mountain pass on the watershed between the South Tyrolean Val d'Ultimo valley and the Val di Rabbi in the Trentino. A signpost of the Stelvio National Park indicates the way to the nearby Laghi Corvo lakes (Haselgruber Seen).
The trail proceeds first to the smaller lake and then to the two bigger lakes at 2,450 resp. 2,540 m a.s.l. Before we turn back along the same 9 km long route, we stop at the Stella Alpina al Lago Corvo Mountain Hut (Edelweisshütte), located below the pass on the Trentino side.
