The pleasant circular hike takes you to the Earth Pyramids of Collepietra high above the Valle di Tires valley

Although it is cloudy today we risk to do this walk to the natural monument of Collepietra (Steinegg). Above the village we find the first marker with the inscription "Pyramidenrundweg" (pyramid circular trail). A partly narrow path curls up the hillside above the Valle di Tires valley. We have view on the other side of the valley with the Sciliar and the village Aica di Fiè.
The Sciliar and the Catinaccio are covered with mist which clears only slowly. Our round-trip first leads us down towards Briè (Breien) and up the hillside again. After about one hour we reach our target, the Earth Pyramids of Collepietra. A lot of theories and legends about these earth pillars are around. The most well-known one is written on an info panel at the lookout point.
We walk further to Collepietra and visit the small chapel "Weissenbild" on the wayside. Meanwhile the fog has covered the Earth Pyramids, we take a last photo.
