The surroundings of Prissiano are rich in nature and scenic diversity, but also in castles and palaces, which we will pass during this autumnal circular walk

On the plateau of Tesimo and Prissiano, surrounded by a varied landscape, numerous castles, fortresses and ruins can be found. We start our circular walk in the village centre of Prissiano towards south, cross the covered bridge and take the road towards the district of Sandbichl. There the Waldsteig path starts, which will accompany us slightly uphill to the village of Grissiano.
We take the path no. 7 and walk past green meadows to the forest, where we take the Pezzanl Path (no. 12) at the junction. Via this path we descend directly to Prissiano (Prissian). By the way, a forest path branching off from the Pezzanlweg path leads to the ruins of Holz Castle. Back in the village of Prissiano, we pass Fahlburg Castle towards the Vorbichl recreation area.
We follow the road downhill to the junction with the path no. 17 which takes us to the last highlight of this tour: Katzenzungen Castle and the Versoaln Vine, the largest and one of the oldest vines of Europe. Passing the St. Martin Church, we return along the road to the starting point in Prissiano. This hike leads through a varied landscape, which is particularly attractive in autumn.
