This family hiking tour leads us from Lake Valdurna along the Seebtal stream to the Seebalm mountain hut in the Sarentino Alps

We start our hiking tour at the parking space (1,518 metres a.s.l.) before the small village of Valdurna (its centre is closed to traffic!) in the Val Sarentino valley and follow the asphalt road at the left shore of Lake Valdurna. Near the restaurant Fischerwirt we branch off from the lake trail and follow trail no. 16 towards the Seebalm mountain hut. Leading steadily upwards, the asphalt road soon becomes a narrower hiking trail along which we hike into the valley.
Normally, we would recommend to do this hiking tour in the summer months. However, because of the early high temperatures this year, we decided to do it in April and are delighted by the thousands of crocuses growing in the alpine meadows of the Val Sarentino.
After further 20 minutes and a last ascent, we finally reach the Seebalm mountain hut at an altitude of 1,808 metres a.s.l. This mountain hut is open for the public from the beginning of June to the end of September, so today we brought our own picnic, which we enjoy now together with the wonderful panorama of the Sarentino Alps. Finally, we hike the same way back to our starting point. Additionally, one could also hike all the way around Lake Valdurna.
