The Witches' Springs Barefoot and Adventure Trail is designed for young and old: Right at the Tirler Hut, accessible from the mountain station on the Alpe di Siusi in a hike or by bus, it's time to take off your shoes and experience the surroundings with all your senses: smell, feel, hear, see, taste. To make sure things don't get boring, a forest playground opens up the "Witches' Springs" adventure. Tree houses and tunnels, a skittles game and other stations offer space for romping.
Afterwards, the "Witches' Springs" adventure trail - "Erlebnisweg Hexenquellen" in German, "Sorgenti delle Streghe" in Italian - continues into the forest and to the the springs of the Sciliar Witches: Although the path is not signposted, it is accompanied by the witch Curandina and the wise owl Emma. Designed as a circular trail of about 1.5 hours, it also passes sulphur springs, forest clearings, marshlands and a suspension bridge. Carved figures line the path, and again and again a witch's house, a special place or an interactive station appears.
As the protected landscape area of the Siusi Alp is located at an altitude of 1,700 - 1,800 m a.s.l., the summer months are particularly suitable for this excursion. Snow can still be here until May.
