Above Trodena village, the main village of the small municipality in the Monte Corno Nature Park in the south of South Tyrol, which stretches from 719 m to 1,836 m a.s.l., the 2 km long hike along the Trodena Legend Trail (Sagenweg Truden) starts. It first circles the wooded hill Forchwaldegg and then leads - always following signpost no. 8 - towards Runggano. There, at the pond just before the Runggano Farm, the adventure in the Trodena Legend Forest starts and ends.
Various stations tell interesting stories: There are masks dangling from the trees, a chest full of gold coins, a wooden book of legends invites you to read, witches ride through the forest, and you will also learn the legend of the guard at the Stuppner Gate. The trail was opened in 2009, the pupils of the primary school worked up and drew the entire legends. Once you have completed the trail, the Trodena Kneipp facility awaits you below. The best place to finish a hot summer day!
In the village, the Monte Corno Visitor Centre tells about the protected area and its inhabitants.
