The San Lorenzo Legend Trail, 3 km long, is a family-friendly circular hike with 10 fascinating stories
San Lorenzo in the Val Pusteria valley offers no less than two themed trails around the village: the Archaeological Panorama Trail "Vivat Sebatum!", so to speak the extension of the Mansio Sebatum Museum, which is dedicated to excavations from Roman times, and the Legend Trail, which tells the stories about the surrounding area of San Lorenzo di Sebato.
In 2017, the pupils of the local primary school designed the individual panels for the 10 stations, including "The Great Bell", "The Golden Calf" and "The Kienberg Giant". Afterwards, the theme trail was ceremoniously opened. The starting point is the old railway station near the village centre, after which you first follow the railway line towards Brunico (trail no. 1A), and then along a field path to the subway of the southern bypass of Brunico. There, trail no. 12 takes you towards Santo Stefano and along the old village road (trail no. 4) back to the starting point.
The entire tour takes about one hour, but can also be combined with the Archaeological Panorama Trail. In this variant, you first walk in 2 hours to the Castelbadia hill, the highest point of the hike, always following the sign "ARCHEO". Afterwards you return towards Fassina and the village centre, where you can then take on the San Lorenzo Legend Trail. Have fun!
