A few minutes' walk from the centre of San Candido village, the four-seater chairlift starts on Mount Baranci. The popular excursion destination is not only the starting point for numerous easy hikes, but also offers several attractions for families right at the mountain station. Everything here revolves around Giant Baranci's Kingdom, and this already starts at the eponymous mountain hut at 1,650 m a.s.l., where Giant's Baranci Kids' Party is celebrated every Friday in summer.
You can also discover the new Realm of the Giant Baranci on the Giant's Realm Circular Trail. This also includes the Dwarf Village with rustic tree houses and suspension bridges, the "Dwarf Course" high ropes course and the Barefoot Lakes. Actually, it was a little child who once drank from a miraculous spring and became strong as a bear afterwards... And at the end of the day the Fun Bob summer toboggan run is a good alternative for the descent!
In winter then, the Monte Baranci turns into one of the wonderful ski mountains of the 3 Zinnen Dolomites Ski Resort in the Upper Val Pusteria.

The Val Pusteria Mountain Card is also available, offering three return trips within five days, five return trips within seven days, or ten return trips throughout the summer season. It's valid for a total of 16 lift facilities, including the Monte Baranci Chairlift.
The opening hours refer to the ones of the Monte Baranci Chairlift, which takes you to the Realm of the Giant Baranci: It operates every day from early June to mid-October. The Giant Baranci's Kids Party takes place every Friday in July and August on the large meadow near the mountain station.
Season start 2025 on June 7.
