In 2024 Val di Vizze inaugurated two new thematic trails: the Bee Trail that has been recently modernized and is situated in Trens, a small pilgrimage place, and a thematic trail on the world of mushrooms, such as porcinis, chanterelles, parasol mushrooms and many more. Besides the delicacies that grow in this place you will find models of mushrooms measuring one metre that decorate the information signs along the path. The latters are made of wood and look very similar, in order to help people recognise immediately this trail that can be completed within 30 minutes.
The Mushroom Path (Pilzeweg Pfitsch) starts from the playground "Aue" in San Giacomo di Vizze di Dentro near Vipiteno and runs through a wood of Norway spruce trees for one km. The information signs describe different types of mushrooms and their distribution, as well as their benefits and secrets. Did you know that mushrooms are rooted, such as plants, but that unlike them they nourish themselves from organic substances like animals because they are not able to perform photosynthesis?
