One of the most popular theme trails in the Merano region is the one near Naturno, which follows the footsteps of the manikin ”Hinzl”
A few years ago, a theme trail for young and old dedicated to the history of the village was opened in Tablà, a district of Naturno. It is said that "Hinzl", a little man, was up to mischief here. The circular walk - Hinzlweg Tabland, in German - starts at the village square near the primary school in Tablà and leads for 3 km past 15 interesting stations, always following signpost no. 4.
The trail leads to the Ritz'n Mill and the shooting range, through forests and flower meadows, and past the Ragoier and Oberwötzel farms. At the various points, the trail tells stories, legends and historical facts about the life in Tablà and the surrounding area. Benches invite you to take a break or have a picnic, and in between the view opens up on Naturno and the Monte Sole in the Val Venosta all the way into the Val Senales valley. Total walking time: approx. 1.5 hours.
