A good drop of home-grown wine and typical South Tyrolean farmers cooking can be enjoyed at the Griesserhof farm inn

This listed farmhouse is situated north of Bressanone, between Varna and Novacella, at the foot of a steeply sloping vineyard. It once belonged to the so-called "Mairhöfen" and provided income for the bishop. Today it is here to spoil you with a drop of its home-produced wine and tasty dishes. The farm in also offers wine tastings (booking required).
Speck and cheese, "Kaminwurzen" (chimney smoked sausage), barley soup, "Schlutzer" (spinach ravioli), dumplings, cheese dumplings, house sausage, cured pork, cold cuts platter. Omelettes, "Kaiserschmarrn" (sugared pancakes with raisins) and sweet "Krapfen" (fried sweet pastries). "Erdäpfelblattlen" (fried potato pasties) with cabbage and "Tirtlen" (fried vegetable pasties), cabbage or beetroot salad. Juices: apple, elderflower and sour cherry.
Müller Thurgau, Sauvignon, Kerner, Veltliner and Pinot Noir are produced on the farm from own grapes.

Opening times
From 12th September until 3rd December open from Wednesday to Sunday from noon. From 4th December until 6th January open from Friday until Sunday from noon. From Easter to Whitsun open on weekends from noon. Advance booking recommended.

Access route: Coming from Bressanone, turn right at the end of the village of Varna. The farm inn is located on the left after 100 metres. Coming from the north, turn left at the entrance of the village of Varna (follow the signs).
