The via ferrata crosses the highest peak of the Catinaccio Group, the mighty Catinaccio d’Antermoia (3,004 m a.s.l.)

We start our tour at the parking space near the Ciamin Mountain Hut in Bagni di Lavina Bianca and follow trail no. 1, which leads from the visitors' centre to the Rifugio Bergamo al Principe at 2,165 m a.s.l. and requests a very good physical condition. After a short rest, we continue our tour on trail no. 3A, which leads us to Passo Principe, from where we reach the beginning of the fixed-rope route in a few minutes. The fixed-rope route itself is less challenging than the rest of the tour (level of difficulty A/B).
However, pay attention where you put your feet to reduce the danger of rockfalls and use your hands for a better balance! At the end of the fixed-rope route we hike on a horizontal mountain ridge (attention!) until we finally reach the summit cross at 3,004 m a.s.l.
After a picnic we hike the same way back to our starting point. Please note: The Mt. Catinaccio d'Antermoia Route (Kesselkogel Klettersteig, in German) is of medium difficulty and requests a very good physical fitness and some mountain experience. Moreover, you must not suffer from vertigo. A climbing equipment and helmet is absolutely required!
