The Ice Tower in Corvara in the Val Passiria valley is one of the most spectacular constructions in the whole of Europe
For all passionate climbers and alpineers, ice climbing represents a popular alternative during the freezing cold winter months: Ice formations such as frozen waterfalls or rock slabs covered with ice refrozen from flows of water are conquered with the help of crampons and special ice axes. Mountain experience and safety equipement are equally important as in summer. Beautiful ice climbing areas can be found in the Val Venosta valley, but also in other South Tyrolean valleys.
