The 1.4 km long Wine Trail in Lagundo village, called Weinlehrpfad Algund, combines two interesting elements: the information on the growth and ripening of the vines and their history in the Merano region, and the walk along a Waalweg path, one of the old irrigation channels for the apple and wine orchards. The work of the "Saltner", the guardian of the vineyards until the 20th century, who was often adorned with chains made of animal teeth and armed with a halberd, and customs in the vineyard are also explained.
The Wine Trail starts directly at the Lagundo Waalweg path, and leads along the Schludernstein Path to the Leiter am Waal restaurant in Plars di Mezzo. It ends at the starting point again - 15 information boards await you along the way. In the warm months, guided hikes are often offered, which end with a cellar tour at the Plars Castle Winery. Walking time: approx. 45 minutes.
