Already in grandmother's time the gorgeous effect of wool was well-known. The wool fibre keeps warm and is temperature-balancing, can absorb humidity and is water-repellent on its surface. The wool of the sheep is sheared, combed, made into yarn and is used to knit, crochet, weave and mill. On the contrary for felting, combed wool is used.
