The famous Kurhaus, built in Art Nouveau style, is one of the landmarks of the spa town of Merano

Along the most traditional promenade of Merano, the Lungopassirio Promenade, the Kurhaus rises next to the Municipal Theatre of Merano. It is a glamorous venue for congresses, concerts and celebrations such as the Merano WineFestival and the FarmFood Festival, and serves as an elegant backdrop for the Merano Christmas Market. The Kurhaus is not only a member of the Historic Conference Centres of Europe (HCCE), but is also the home of the Merano Tourist Office.
The building was opened in 1874, at that time still gas-lit, and consisted of the today's west wing. The other wings of the Kurhaus were built in 1913/14 and opened on New Year's Eve 1914. Outside, the Kurhaus shows itself in the most beautiful Art Nouveau style with a dome, a generous terrace and elegant graces on the roof. Inside, an elegant foyer with staircase, the magnificent Kursaal hall with ceiling paintings and Art Nouveau ornaments, the rotunda and the gallery await you. Numerous other conference and exhibition rooms as well as the Pavilion des Fleurs, the Hall of Mirrors in the older wing, complete the unique building.
In the 1980s, the Kurhaus was renovated and then reopened in 1989 with a magnificent concert by the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. It is located in the centre of Merano. On the back side, you find the Arcades of Merano, Tyrol's longest arcades, and the old town, on the front side, towards the Passirio river, you reach the Merano Thermal Baths after crossing a bridge. And how to reach the Kurhaus? It's just a few minutes' walk from the nearby car park of the Merano Thermal Baths.
