Fanes-Senes-Braies Visitor Centre

The exhibition of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Visitor Centre in the Via Catarina Lanz road comprises the topics like the origin of the Dolomites, the Ladin mythology with the legendary Kingdom of Fanes, and the in 1987 discovered cave bear of the Conturines, wich has got its own museum in San Cassiano today: the Museum Ladin Ursus ladinicus. Further topics are the most important habitats and an interesting three-dimensional relief which shows the morphology of the area. Along helical ramps, the different floors of the visitor centre can be reached.

For the little ones there are terrariums and a kids' corner with plays. Furthermore, in Daksy's Kids' Workshop children between 6 and 12 years can do handicrafts with natural materials and find out more about nature playfully. Daksy, the cute badger, accompanies children through all nature park visitor centres in South Tyrol. You may combine a visit to the facility with a pleasant walk along the "Tru dles liondes" Legend Trail, which is also located in San Vigilio di Marebbe.
