With a bit of luck, night projections at the new facility will show you the crepuscular and nocturnal inhabitants of the nature park

Until a few years ago, the Sciliar-Catinaccio Visitor Centre could be found in the building of the former Steger Sawmill near Tires, then it moved to the new building in Siusi allo Sciliar, which also houses the tourist information office of Siusi and the library. Specially made geological models show you the long history of the Sciliar Dolomite, which once developed from coral reefs. The visitor centre offers interesting information about flora, fauna and geology in this beautiful part of South Tyrol, where the Dolomite glow is explained with the legend of King Laurin.
In addition, there are an interactive landscape game housed in the middle of the room in a striking tree trunk, and the entrance area with comfortable sofas surrounded by 360 degrees images of the Sciliar-Catinaccio Nature Park. Such as in all visitor centres in South Tyrol, also here children can meet Daksy, the little badger and the mascot of the nature parks. The Sciliar-Catinaccio Visitor Centre is completed by two information points: the one at the Fiè Pond and the Information Point in the Steger Saw which housed years ago - as explained above - the old visitor centre.
